9. SMS and Telephony Communications
Mobile information, phone numbers, and SMS opt-in data will not be shared with, sold to, or rented to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of personal information described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
SMS Program Disclosures. By opting in to text messages from AxleDash, you agree to receive operational messages (appointment summaries, booking alerts, report notifications, and schedule-management replies). Message frequency varies based on your shop's activity; customers typically receive between 5 and 30 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and get assistance by replying HELP or emailing support@axledash.com. Mobile information, phone numbers, and SMS opt-in and consent data will not be shared with, sold to, or rented to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of personal information described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
AxleDash provides a missed-call response and booking platform used by independent auto repair shops. In connection with this service we collect and process:
- The phone numbers of business owners who subscribe to our service.
- The phone numbers and call metadata (time, duration, answered/missed status) of consumers who place calls to the business numbers we provision.
- The content of SMS messages sent and received through our platform.
This information is used only to deliver the service — to send missed-call text-back messages to callers, to notify business owners of missed calls, and to display call and message records to the subscribing business on their account dashboard.
We do not share, sell, or rent phone numbers, call data, opt-in records, or SMS content with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information and consent records are never used for marketing. We share information only with telecommunications providers (such as Twilio) strictly as required to transmit and receive messages and calls on your behalf, and with hosting and analytics providers under standard data-processing terms.
AxleDash operates two separate messaging programs, described individually below. They are not combined: consent given for one program does not enroll a person in the other, and opting out of one does not require opting out of the other.
9.1 Operational notifications to subscribed shop owners
These messages are sent by AxleDash to its own account holders — owners and authorized staff of independent auto repair shops that hold an active AxleDash account. They are operational only and cover appointment summaries, booking alerts when an appointment is created, canceled, or rescheduled, notifications that a report is ready, and two-way replies that let an owner act on their own schedule by text. This program contains no marketing content.
Opt-in occurs in account Settings. The owner enters their own mobile number and checks a consent checkbox that is unchecked by default, then verifies the number by entering a one-time code that we send to it. No messages in this program are sent until that verification succeeds. We retain a record of each opt-in that includes the exact consent wording agreed to, the date and time, the originating IP address, and the account identifier.
An owner may opt out at any time in account Settings or by replying STOP to any message; opt-out is honored immediately. Business owners may also opt out of operational SMS notifications by contacting us at support@axledash.com.
9.2 Consumer text-back messaging
These are conversational messages sent to consumers who call a shop’s AxleDash-provisioned phone number and whose call is not answered. The message is sent on behalf of the shop the consumer called, so that the shop can respond to the enquiry. Consumers are not enrolled in the shop-owner program described in Section 9.1.
For this program we process the phone numbers and call metadata (time, duration, answered/missed status) of consumers who place calls to the business numbers we provision, together with the content of the SMS messages exchanged. This information is used to deliver the text-back message and to display the call and message record to the subscribing business on their account dashboard.
Consumers may stop messages from any business at any time by replying STOP, and may reply HELP for assistance.
See our Terms of Use for full SMS program details, message frequency, and opt-out procedures.
